Portraits

If you live in the Seattle area, I would prefer to do a “photo shoot” of the subject myself. Of course, if you are out of my area, I will rely on you to provide me with the photos I require. People have busy lives and most often do not have the time to sit and pose. Below are instructions outlining what I will need from you.

If the subject of the portrait will not be able to sit for me, I must rely on the photographs you provide. My portraits are not duplicates of photographs. I can create the setting, background or atmosphere that you feel will be most appropriate. I will work with you to determine the appropriate attire for the subject. In order to capture the personality of the subject, I will need good, clear photographs. You must decide the pose you want: (sitting, waist-up, chest-up, or profile.)

Portraits will be painted using acrylic on a stretched canvas.

Photographs:

I will need at least 8 to 10 good photos of the subject, with clear close-ups of the face, and several good photos in the pose you want for the portrait. You can email me the photos, and size is not an issue, as long as they are good, clear shots. I can guide you through the process, and I may make some suggestions if I am not receiving the photos I require. The color quality of the photographs is very important. It is the only window I have into the actual hair and skin color of
the subject.

Price for Personal Portraits – $3.00 per square inch of canvas.
